Group Fund Raising Committee

South Queensferry Scout Group consists of active sections of Explorers, Scouts, scout doing a horizontal climb along from the Hawes pierCubs and Beavers, and benefits from an  excellent Scout hall facility.  A significant amount of fund raising is required to subsidise group activities and also for the maintenance of equipment and the Scout hall. An example of this is the need to replace tents which can cost £1,000 each.

Funding for the group comes from a number of sources. As well as the term fees, each section may organise specific fund raising activities.   This is supplemented by fund raising organised by the Fund raising committee and by tapping into other sources too.

This committee has in the past ran a number of successful events which have ranged from bag packs to theatrical productions, sing-a-long to the completely ridiculous L2 - Ascent of the Loan a wonderful horizontal climb along from the Hawes pier to the summit up from the Scotmid plateaux and just beyond the South Queensferry Parish church station.

The Committee works alongside each of the different sections to ensure that fund raising dates and events are coordinated and also with other group fund raising for specific projects e.g. the trips to Kenya which the group has organised and participated in.
